What’s it doing?
| Symptom | Usually means |

| Charges only when the plug is held | A worn charging port or a cracked solder joint. The port is replaced or re-soldered. |
| No charge light at all | The charger, the port, or the charging circuit on the board. We test with a known-good charger. |
| Charges on one USB-C port but not the other | One port or its power circuit has failed on the board. |
| Charger gets hot or smells of burning | Stop using it. A damaged charger or cable can damage the board. |
Lenovo has used round barrel chargers, the rectangular “slim tip” charger and USB-C over the years, and gaming laptops use high-wattage chargers. We check the port, the charger and the board before quoting.

How long does it take?
Most repairs take one to three working days once the part arrives. We order the exact part for your machine type.
Do you give a price first?
Yes. We diagnose the laptop and tell you the price before any repair. Nothing is done until you agree. The price calculator shows our prices by range.
Is my data safe?
A repair doesn’t wipe your storage. If we ever need to reinstall Windows, we copy your files off first and check them with you.
